NUST holds Workshop on “Materials World and the Importance of R&D”

School of Chemical & Materials Engineering (SCME) and Research Directorate in collaboration with Cranfield University organised a one-day workshop on “Material World and the Importance of R&D” on May 23rd, 2022. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Adnan Syed from Cranfield University, UK and Dr. Nasir Mehmood from NUST School of Chemical and Materials Engineering (NUST-SCME). 10x speakers from Cranfield University enlightened the NUST audience with the research that is being conducted at their parent institution. The workshop was themed to focus on materials sustainability, material degradation processes, coating protection, nanotechnology, sensor technology, and Imaging systems.

The workshop was appraised by faculty, researchers, engineers, and other research stakeholders to share research expertise and explore potential avenues of collaboration between NUST and Cranfield University in the field of material science. The facilities available at Surface Engineering & Precision Center (SEPc) at Cranfield University and NUST were also brought into attention to increase the level of cooperation between NUST and SEPc-Cranfield University.

At the end of the conference, a discussion round was held between stakeholders at NUST and Cranfield University to explore avenues of cooperation in the future.
